Die Hard 4 1080p Dual Audio is the first high definition Blu-ray version of the film. It includes both Dolby TrueHD 5.1 English, Dolby Digital 5.1 English, DTS-ES 6.1 Spanish, DTS-ES 6.1 French, and Dolby Digital 5.1 German audio tracks on a single disc - one of only three titles with that capability among the first wave of Blu-ray Discs released on June 20, 2006 (in addition to Casino Royale and The Fifth Element). The film also contains a Dolby Digital 5.1 English and Dolby Digital 5.1 English French audio track and DTS 5.1 French and Portuguese tracks on a separate 5 disc 2-disc set, which was released alongside the Blu-ray on June 20, 2006. The film features two additional audio options (similar to those of the second Blu-ray version of "Pearl Harbor") - DTS HD Master Audio and DTS HD High Resolution Audio - for both English and German audio tracks on disc 2. Featurettes include "Die Hard 4: The Miniseries - An Insider's View" (37 min), "The Making of "Die Hard 4" (19 min), "Is It Christmas Yet?" (6 min) and an all new after-viewing featurette, called "A Behind-the-Scenes Tour" (15 min). An earlier Blu-ray version, using the PAL format without changing the aspect ratio in order to make it compatible with standard PAL television sets. Like the other Blu-rays in this series, it does not include any bonus features. This final open air release uses its own hard disc instead of a DVD case to store its bonus materials. In addition to the bonus materials from the previous special edition DVD, it contains a Dolby Digital 5.1 English audio track and a DTS 5.1 French audio track in addition to the original 5.1 stereo tracks in English and German, but only features the theatrical cut of the film with no additional material. This version of "Die Hard 4" is in a slightly different aspect ratio than the other releases in this series, in order to accommodate for a wide-screen presentation with its original 1.78:1 format instead of being cropped from its original 2.35:1 ratio - something that was also done for "The Fifth Element". In 2007, "Die Hard 4" was included on a double feature DVD alongside the first sequel, "Die Hard 2. This release included a new interview between producer Joel Silver and director Renny Harlin. In October 2010, In-Home Video released the original 2.35:1 version of "Die Hard 4" on DVD as part of its "Ultimate Edition" sets that include all six films from the '80s and '90s. The set is presented in its own individual boxset case with an extra slipcase inside that is designed to be used to store the four discs of material used for each film. The original 2.
